Whether you are participating or volunteering this New Year's Day race has a little something for everyone with a competitive 5K race, 5K walking category, fun and festive formal wear race division (pajamas allowed), weight challenge division and Kids' Fun Run. Come on out and celebrate your New Year with us! A portion of the net proceeds raised from this event will go the designated charity partner. All 5K runners receive a race T-shirt, custom finisher medal, post-race refreshments, and festive post-race awards ceremony. Kids' Fun Run participants receive a finisher medal and post-race refreshments.

The 13th Annual Hair of the DoG 5k was a great success in 2019 in Williamsburg and we are looking forward to doing it again in 2020 bigger and better, to provide New Year’s revelers with a healthy resolution run to round out their New Year’s celebration in Williamsburg.

Formalwear Division Compete in your formal wear from the night before and vie for overall male and female awards in this division. It looks best if you appear to have slept in them.

Heavy Kevy's Weight Challenge Report your weight below and your time will be calculated based on seconds per pound. Everyone at every weight has a chance to win in this division. Overall male and female winners in this category will be awarded prizes, and you will still be eligible for age group and overall awards.

Packet pickup is only available on race day between the hours of 8:30 and 9:45 on Duke of Gloucester Street in Merchants Square.

All participants receive a custom logo race T-shirt and all finishers receive a custom finisher medal.

All participants and volunteers are treated to a festive post-race party with delicious treats, fruit, coffee and adult beverages.

Awards will be presented to age group winners, fastest male and female in the formalwear division and fastest male and female in the weight challenge division

All volunteers can opt to receive a letter documenting their community service hours.
