JOINT BASE LANGLEY-EUSTIS

The Military Clothing Sales facility at Langley Air Force Base will begin selling unisex and female-specific Operational Camouflage Pattern, or OCP, uniforms on August 5, 2019.

“Airmen have a lot of pride in their professional appearance, and it’s exciting to get new uniforms. Changing what we wear every day is significant and can take some preparation,” said U.S. Air Force Col. Clinton Ross, 633rd Air Base Wing commander. “Service members have been anxiously awaiting their arrival here at Langley and we’re excited they’re finally here.”

Due to high demand and limited supply, U.S. Air Force Airmen stationed at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia, will be authorized to purchase up to two sets of OCPs. Airmen must bring a printed copy of their orders with them to MCS which can be obtained online through the virtual Military Personnel Flight website.

“Service members must show proof of service branch, grade, and orders as proof of authorization to purchase at Langley MCS,” said Amanda Hartfield, JBLE Army and Air Force Exchange Service general manager. “Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve personnel should utilize their normal unit uniform acquisition processes to obtain OCPs.”

The MCS will have additional support and extended operating hours August 5-10. The MCS and alterations shop will have additional personnel available to assist with increased customer traffic, and provide guidance on proper wear of the uniform.

On-site boot representatives will be present to assist Airmen with boot sizing and selection as well.

Hartfield also recommends personnel order nametapes early to ensure arrival before purchasing uniforms on August 5 as the order typically takes five to seven business days. Airmen are also encouraged to purchase flag, organization and higher headquarter command patches early to ensure they are prepared for duty.

Airmen can also refer to AFI 36-2903, Dress and Appearance or visit the Dress and Appearance page on the AFPC website at www.afpc.af.mil/Career-Management/Dress-and-Appearance/, for detailed information on proper uniform wear and requirements.

Launch Operating Hours:

Monday – Friday, August 5-9: 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Saturday, August 10: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

According to the Air Force’s Personnel Center, online ordering through AAFES is anticipated to be available to Airmen around October 2019. All Airmen are required to wear OCPs by April 1, 2021.
